At Bournemouth Magistrates Court on 20th August 2013 a Poole fisherman pleaded guilty to two charges of obstruction in Poole Harbour. The Magistrate heard how the fisherman discarded his catch of shellfish when asked to stop, and prevented a Fisheries and Conservation Officer from carrying out an inspection. On a separate occasion the fisherman intentionally obstructed a Fisheries and Conservation officer in the performance of his duty, in that he failed to stop to allow his vessel to be boarded and inspected. The fisherman was fined £600 and ordered to pay £400 towards the Southern IFCA costs, plus a surcharge £40 towards victim support.
