At CES, Hifiman Electronics announced two new planar magnetic headphones: the HE-400i ($499) and HE-560 ($899). The HE-560 is now available for pre-order and will ship this month. This over-the-ear headphone, which is reportedly 30 percent lighter than other full-size planar magnetic designs, uses redesigned single-ended drivers in an open-back design, and its improved efficiency (90dB) makes it easier to drive.
