At Central Market last night buying provisions, and as I make eye contact with an employee behind the deli counter, she rather seriously tells me were taking numbers, meaning she cant serve me until I take a ticket with a number on it. A man behind the counter says NOW SERVING 4 . . . NUMBER 4 . . . . I reach out for a ticket as he continues, NUMBER 5? SERVING NUMBERS 4 AND 5 . . . . I look down at the number on the ticket I just took from the dispenser and I immediately begin to laugh out loud (mind you, Im pretty sleep deprived at this moment from working an inordinate amount, and I just want to get some dinner so I can keep grinding out the rest of yet another 16 hour shift). Ive pulled number 3.
