At Charmaine Harriss request, a repost from the Pender Island Online Market group ... ------------------------------------------------------ An update on yesterdays epic thread about those rumbling noises (figured Id start a new thread so everyone sees it). I just got a call from Jack Knox at the TC, who has been on this for quite a while now. The noises were also very loud in Victoria and surrounding areas yesterday. Apparently the culprit was/is almost certainly the US Navy Growler jets that operate out of Naval Air Station Whidbey and Outlying Landing Field Coupeville, and there was a big testing session of some sort yesterday from 5-9pm (and they were probably coming and going earlier in the day as well).
