At Christmastime a lot of people will adopt kittens and puppies for their children. Make sure you and your family understand that when you adopt a kitten or puppy or even an older dog or cat you are making a commitment for the life of that pet. If you adopted a child you would not abandon the child after a few months, because you got tired of him or her. When you adopt a pet you just added a new member to your family, make sure you treat the new addition to your family with love. The photo of the puppy s just one I grabbed from the internet, because I no longer had photos of my golden retriever or my collies that I adopted years ago, but the other image is of Patches, Kents cat who became my cat when my son died. Patches died three years ago just two days before Christmas. We adopted Patches when she was four years old.
