At Mondays All Student Meeting, a question from the floor asked what the Sabbatical Officers thought of Student Council – whether we thought it was representative, effective or accessible, or indeed if it achieved anything for students. This question really got me thinking, and tapped into some of the frustrations that myself and, I think, the Sabbatical Team as a whole have felt this year. [...] Ironically, the very councillors, officers and students who complain about Sabbatical Officers focusing too long on bureaucracy and refusing to engage more students are often those who actively go out of their way to create that bureaucracy...
