At Reverse Garbage, we are committed to “new life reuse” where offcuts and discards are given a new purpose rather than sent to landfill or reprocessed at the expense of time, money, energy, and resources (recycling.) Reuse has traditionally been driven by financial necessity, but unfortunately has become less financially necessary and less convenient in regard to our relatively high standards of living, time poor lifestyles and an economy dependent on consumerism. But there are other reasons to commit to the complete use of resources that have already had much energy invested in their initial processing. By seeking to reuse, instead of buying new, just wherever you can, you are reducing CO2 emissions and minimising your carbon footprint. This is something everyone can have difficulty curtailing, but by reusing you ARE making Brisbane a cleaner, greener, global city.
