At Walmart tonight, I stopped by the fish department. I saw a blood parrot cichlid (orange fish) in the fish section and although he was kind of homely looking, I wanted him. No employees were to be found and after 5 minutes of walking around looking for help, I went to the electronics section and asked an elderly man from that department to help me find someone. He called for help and I went back by the tanks and waited 10 minutes, and nobody showed up. So I went back to him and told him nobody came so he stopped what he was doing and said he would try. Well, the poor old guy had never worked with fish before. There were no bags to put the fish in, the section was a mess with trash everywhere. We looked all over for bags and finally he went and got a package of zip-locks off the shelf to put the fish in. He was going to put the fish in tap water, but I stopped him and said it would kill them. I told him how the guy normally does it, and he tried really hard to do it right. Between the two of us, we got the fish in the bag and marked. There was a puddle left on the floor, but he said he would mop it up. He was somebodys grandpa (maybe great-grandpa) that really should not be working at Walmart at 8pm and rather he should be home relaxing in his recliner with his dog. He was older than my Dad and had the tremors like my Dad has. When we finally were done, I thanked him for helping me and as I walked off he said, Thank you for shopping at Walmart. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! He was a nice old guy.
