I am not going to your stupid fest blah blah blah blah blah So we had the fest from 2006-2011. Marvelous, spectacular time. 2011 we ended our time at Starlight Ballroom and in 2012 Moved to the Electric Factory. Previously- I’d book the fest, it would sell out and people who shit talk us, complain, tell us all day that we’re mean for not letting more people in. In fact, its arguable just based on the size of TIH in 2011 vs the size of TIH 2012 that we literally kept other festivals going just by bands not being able to play TIH or kids not being able to get tickets. I solve the problem that was the biggest and everyone thinks we’re dicks for no re-entry. Immediately, they want to leave, they don’t care about seeing the bands… we’re dickheads all over again. forget about the fact that there is more space inside, its actually air conditioned. The Stage is bigger, so I’m much less of a worrywart on stage (thus kids can’t complain that I throw everyone off stages) there is clean bathrooms, the sound is better blah blah blah blah So essentially when I read the “I can’t believe you” type complaints I think to myself: Are you really questioning that after 17 years (this year) of doing shows that I forgot what it was like to be in a venue all day? That I would actually invite human beings from all over the world to come and be stuck in a building all day? You idiot kids with your smart phones and parents you didn’t tell you that if you ask another stupid question you’re being doing it with less teeth… I’ve posted links, we’ve got hundreds of pictures, YOU YOURSELVES have posted pics on instagram and facebook- yet we’ve got a horde of “re entry “ advocates with absolute NO IDEA that you can actually walk outside once you pay to get in the fest AND NEVER see a band and you can still hear the bands, hang with your friends, eat food, buy shit and all the cool guy shit without ever being in the venue… Who pays for that ? Not the Factory.. Not the bands.. I do. I spend more time setting up the outside and there are more specialized TIH jobs directly associated with the outside area of TIH then with any other specific aspect of TIH. In fact it is the single handedly most tricky and complex part of the fest each year and will remain so. For what the cost is to rent the parking lots (separate price) the deal we have to renew each year from redbull and for all the other stuff that is implied not including the 2 ½ hour clean up of tents/tables/chairs at the end of the fest - Its FOR YOU you NO GOOD jagaloons… So please, weird “re – entry advocate” who has not even done the research to look at what the fest looks like- continue telling me I’m a moron. I’ll keeping spending money that could easily buy me new sneakers, an I Mac, potentially a titanium maille shirt and still have money left over for a non ghetto hammock to make sure actual THOUSANDS of kids are carefully, fed and entertained throughout the day, on top of booking the best goddamn weekend in hardcore on planet earth…
