At about 3:30 in the afternoon of 04 October 2014, at the vicinity of Purok 1-B, Brgy. San Juan, Surigao City personnel from Surigao City Police Station Intelligence Section led by PI JOEL DANGCALAN CABANES conducted buy-bust/entrapment operation under pre-ops number PDEA RO 13 1014-00010 against the suspect that eventually resulted to his apprehension who was identified as JULIUS LASCOÑA BAYTO alias DAD/DADY”, 42 years old, married, jobless and native of Villanueva Village, Brgy. Bading, Butuan City and temporarily resided at Sitio Payawan I, Brgy. Luna, Surigao City. The apprehending officers duly informed the suspect of his constitutional rights and the cause of his arrest. The search was done in an orderly manner duly witnessed by Hon. Monina Caluna, Punong Barangay, Barangay San Juan, Surigao City; Mr. Vladimir Ensomo from DOJ; and Hon. Kagawad Lito Gibertas, Media representative from DXKS. Seized from the suspect’s possession are as follows; a. One (1) white paper containing twelve (12) pcs. regular sizes sachets of suspected shabu; b. One (1) small brown envelope containing two (2) pcs. big/sacks sachets of suspected shabu; c. One (1) sachet of suspected shabu bought by the poseur-buyer from the suspect; d. One (1) pc 1000 peso bill bearing serial number AX625937 marked money; e. Cash amounted to Twenty Six Thousand Two Hundred Forty Pesos (Php 26,240.00) in different denominations; f. One (1) unit blue Nokia cell phone g. One (10 pc 1000 counterfeit money and h. One (1) pc pink wallet. 6. The inventory and markings of evidence were done at the area of operation. Suspect refuses to acknowledge the items seized from him as reflected in the Receipt/Inventory of Property Seized and further refuses to sign the Receipt/Inventory of Property Seized and Certification of Orderly Search. The witnesses signed the aforesaid receipts. Thereafter, all confiscated items and the suspect were immediately brought to Surigao City Police Station for proper disposition. Suspect now temporarily detained at this station while formal charges are now being prepared for filing in court.
