At any given time we may assume a corporation will seek the best - TopicsExpress

At any given time we may assume a corporation will seek the best person for the CEO role they can get. With Brendan Eich, Mozilla had hired the best CEO for the job. We can presume this based on the fact that when they hired him as CEO there was not (yet) any controversy, so their decision criteria was unclouded by political concerns. Now Mozilla hires a guy Chris Beard. We can presume he is the best CEO for the job ** who is a political clone of the people who demanded Eichs resignation **, many of which are not even Mozilla employees. Note that significant qualifier. By implementing what must clearly be a political litmus test for the job of CEO, Mozilla is narrowing its pool of talent irrationally and to its detriment. It is important to note that Mozilla is not a political organization. It is supposed to be producing a product for use by everyone. Political litmus tests might be appropriate in a political non-profit. But in a corporation with an open market product? Its nonsense. I researched donations from Mozilla in the 2012 Presidential election. They were all large, and they were all to Barack Obama. There were two token donations to Ron Paul and Gary Johnson. Otherwise, we now see what happened. Harpy leftwing nuts couldnt stand the idea of their CEO not being in line with them politically. It is their loss, and it will be Mozillas loss. cnet/news/mozilla-names-insider-chris-beard-interim-ceo-after-eich-flap/
