At around midday on Wednesday, 11 September 2013, the police were informed by HM Goastguard that a member of the public had found a jacket and mobile phone near to the cliff edge at Deadmans Cove, North Cliffs, near Camborne. Officers began an investigation and they have identified that the property belongs to a man named John Menzel aged 40 years. Extensive searches by the Police, Coastguard and rescue groups have not yet located Mr Menzel and there are serious concerns for his welfare. Mr Menzel had been living locally and his family have been informed of his disappearance. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Police on 101 quoting crime reference AC/13/3739.
