At first she was aggressive. “Don’t you have a mother or a sister at home?” she said feeling the boil in her blood,” I will hit u where it hurts, you bloody scum” she shouted, turning away. Seeing no one around the man audaciously passed another lewd remark laughing at the poor girl’s helplessness just as he had done yesterday and the day before. She was a peaceful being, hostility wasnt one of her traits, but so outraged was she by these brazen attacks on her modesty, that she wanted to hit the man. “If only I had a gun or a weapon of some sort, I could intimidate this savage back to civilization”, she thought. Realizing that the man was thrice her size, and that it was in no way possible for her to overpower him physically, she decided to ignore him,” I wish I had joined those karate lessons at school, I will enrol myself as soon as possible”, she told herself. The animal continued inflicting wounds on that innocent psyche, each attack getting more vulgar and each leaving a deeper scar.”I should have told my mother that I was coming by bus. What if something happens? ” She said to herself, now feeling scared as the man was calling someone. “ I should call my father, my brother or a friend perhaps, tell them about what is happening and ask them to come and get me, but, is this matter really serious enough to bother them and make them come all the way, and the bus will be here soon, may be I am overreacting, these are usual incidents, I should keep on ignoring him and he will go away eventually” she thought reassuring herself. “I should call the police, there must be patrol car nearby, they will be here in no time, but, what if the man realizes that and flees before they show up, I will have to answer a million questions, It will get dragged on unnecessarily ” she said to herself waiting for the bus even more impatiently. A little time went by, a black car stopped in front of the waiting area, two men came out and along with the man waiting for them, dragged the girl into the vehicle and sped away. Later the police found her body. She knew of so many ways. Ways in which she could have protected herself, sadly, she decided to ignore. “This is a piece of fiction and it might unfortunately bare resemblance to a lot of cases, my intention is only the lesson”.
