At first the grief of child loss engulfs us. Its as though weve been thrown into a deep, dark pit and we can see nothing but darkness and sorrow. Eventually, we are able to see some sunbeams working their way through the darkness and in time we crawl out of our pit of despair and enter life again. But, we never fully regain life as we once knew it. We see life from different eyes, and we experience life with a different heart. We are changed from the inside out. We never have a truly predictable day again and our thoughts dwell more on heaven and spiritual things than on our earthly walk. Why? Because we will always have a strong yearning to be with our child again -- and we will not know true peace until that day comes! God bless all who are traveling this journey we call child loss!
