At just before 8 minutes, the IR image is pointed at the ghost hunter, but then a rectangular shape rises up from him and then across to the medium. Its definitely more than an artifact of the camera or bad usage. Im almost thinking they had a portable infrared heater and pointed it into the frame. You can see that it has a very small impact on the already-warm bodies, but it has a greater impact on the cool walls behind. And just like how a camera flash lights up everything beyond even at different distances with no shading or changes in surface because the flash is so close to the lens, Id think that this is why the shape rectangular, even when its moving across the open doorway between these guys. If this is the case, then perhaps at 3 minutes they were just waving the light around the guy, since I dont think it is merely just improper usage of the camera, as I originally thought.
