At just past mid -night in 1971 25 th of March we heard 3 gun -shots that followed by non -stop firings. I was a small child of 8 or so but i could sense that something horrible was impending. We were living very close to Rajarbag Police Line and was getting worried that my father and eldest brother was not home yet who had gone out to barricade the in coming pak killers. It was a black out situation and we were crawling on the floor and staying low to avoid the firings. I was shaking at my fathers womb. First resistance came from here and many killed instantly. Let us pray for those brave fighters who laid down their lives for us to live eat drink in a free country. It was such a dark and frightening night that i can never forget and forgive.
