At last & any how it went over. After train journey & changing buses two times reached DCRC at HAKOLA UC HIGH SCHOOL at Panchla Block. by 1 pm on 18th instant. With teammates collected poll materials & started ground work there. We reached polling station by 5 pm on same day after 45 minutes by auto, mini bus & again on auto on High way & a broken rural road. 10 minutes on foot crossing a bamboo bridge over a canal. God knows how the local people in rural Bengal pass these bridges daily for their daily routine. Polling station was a free primary school not bad. Unfortunetely room was too small with only one door. After refresh again team started paper work for Dday It went till 00:00 hrs. Tried to sleep in vain. On 19th, poll day wake up at 04 am. Brushed up teeth & took bath. For tea travels 400 mtrs. By 06:30 am people lined up for vote!. Our team also readied up. Sharp at 07:00 hrs. voting started. Local panchayet candidate a lady was the 1st person voted. That was a rigorous job. No time for even food. Scalding heat, humidity, congestion, cacophony & tremendous work load. Voting ended up at 08:30 pm beyond schedule time. Packing of poll materials went for another our. Started back journey at about 09:00 pm and reached DCRC by 10:30 pm. Team deposited materials. At about 11:15 pm we were released by Officers for our fate. Left without option to return home found a place at DCRC for myself. Spread paper bed! on floor and rested without sleep up to 03:00 am today. At 03:45 am a bus to Howrah from DCRC was released by officers for us. Took that bus with other fellows. Finally reached home at 06:00 am exhausted.
