At least 11 killed in Somalia twin blasts MOGADISHU, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- At least 11 people were killed and more than 30 others wounded on Friday evening after twin explosions rocked a hotel and a restaurant in southwest Somalias Baidoa city. Abdi Adam Hosow, governor of Bay region, confirmed the deadly blasts and called it a cowardly attack targeted to innocent civilians. Two heavy explosions targeted to an overcrowded hotel and restaurant in the center of the city. As I know now, 11 people including 3 journalists are dead, and over 30 were submitted to the hospital. Rescue is going on and the casualty may increase, Hosow told local media in Baidoa. Mohamud Ibrahim, a witness, told Xinhua that he saw 10 dead bodies, including two journalists who worked for local TVs in Baidoa. The situation is critical. The ambulances submitted dozens of wounded persons, but still there are some crying from the rabble of the buildings, he added. Police and the security forces have condoned the crime scene and investigation is underway. Baidoa, located 240 km southwest of the capital Mogadishu, was stable before the inauguration ceremony of the newly-elected leader of the Interim South West Administration Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan, who was inaugurated Thursday this week.
