At least 3x a month I get requests from folks asking me to do stuff ( shows, events) for free. I dont mind helping out but I cant do them all. This is not a hobby for me and after 24 years in the business, the possibility of exposure doesnt impress me unless it involves people with real influence and dollars ( and those people dont mind paying). Makeup costs, costumes costs, getting to and from said venue costs. My work begins way before I get to your venue with planning and preparing ( songs and/or material) and lets not forget the 45-80 minute makeup application. The moral of the story is, even BAD DRAG costs so think twice before you ask us to work for free.
