At least I didnt sound stupid. The point this article missed is that they removed the advanced classes because they didnt have a common curriculum. I dont understand why they classes had to be removed before a curriculum could be developed. It is also very concerning how much faith they are putting in the new standards referenced grading. The implementation has been flawed and I saw very little last year that demonstrates that it can be used to create an advanced curriculum. I know that not all my FB friends share my opinion on this, but it should be remembered that we are trying hard to get our kids the best education possible. It is hard to believe that can be achieved when we treat every kid like they have the same abilities. That is my soapbox issue for today.
