At midnight Paul & Silas were praying & singing hymns to God. (Acts 16:25) Gray skies & blue moods - the 2 seem to go together. Some weather forecasters describe the amount of cloudy days a region can expect during the winter season as the gloom index. Think of what Paul & Silas, those 2 1st-century co-workers for Christ, endured (Acts). Any one of their troubles was enough to ruin the sunniest day. However, they were able to rise above their circumstances (v. 25) because they were motivated by the desire to obey God & spread the Gospel. We too can rise a above the gray skies of discouraging circumstances by relying on the Holy Spirit.. We can find encouragement & hope in Gods Son, our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. We can overcome THE GLOOM INDEX!!!
