At morning mass, I was reminded of an interesting story regarding angels. On the RCC Liturgical Calendar, today is the Feast Day of Our Guardian Angels. I presume most Christians when asked would say they believe in angels, as there are many references in the Bible, particularly the OT. 2 years ago we went to Medjugorje, located in the former Yugoslavia. For those of you not familiar, you can read about it on Wikipedia or Google "Medjugorje." Suffice it to say, the Virgin Mary, the Mother of Jesus, has been appearing daily to 6 visionaries since June 1981. As incredible as this may be, especially to Protestants, there have been extensive scientific tests conducted on the visionaries while in a state of "ecstasy" while the apparitions are taking place. While on our pilgrimage in October 2011, a fellow pilgrim (Bob) with a very expensive reflex camera had taken a number of night photos while the group was climbing apparition hill under "full moon" conditions. The following day, Bob had downloaded the photos taken the prior nite onto his iPad. He showed me the photos and asked me about some "orbs" present in the photos, which I explained away as reflections of the moon off the lenses in his camera because of the "full moon" conditions against a dark night sky. That explanation held up until I saw the photos at the following website: medjugorjemiracles/2010/03/amazing-photographs/ . In those series of photos you will see "orbs" accumulate as the time for the apparition nears, and then you will see the room full of "orbs," that is, "ANGELS", while the apparition is taking place. To me that is proof positive that the Mother of God, surrounded by hosts of angels, is indeed appearing (in this case) to Mirjana, one of the visionaries.
