At my very core, I am an entrepreneur. As partner in Sweet Potato Kids, Inc. (a learning community), I am entrusted with the lives of children. My staff and I do not take that responsibility lightly. Each day we have the privilege of impacting generations that walk through our doors. It is a privilege to serve and educate them. It is a privilege to watch them blossom into scholars. I am thankful and grateful that I was chosen for it. Now, there have been days when I simply wanted to quit and return to corporate America. See, I had security under the red umbrella(thanks, The Travelers... They taught and treated me well). Entrepreneurship is HARD and some days, I really want to walk away from it all. But, true entrepreneurs look at set backs and yes failures as opportunities. For those of us that serve and believe God, it is his grace that allow us to continue in this journey. Besides, we have the BEST children!! So, on this Small Business Saturday, I would like to thank each parent, investor, prayer warrior, family, friends for believing in the vision.
