At one of the schools I work at, the kids are doing a salute to Veterans. While singing the National Anthem, I noticed something that upset me, not a single Black or Hispanic rose for the National Anthem, not a single White was seated. I ask one of the Blacks whom I know and talk to often why and she said Hell no, Im not getting out of my chair for that, my husband spent his time in the Military so we have paid our dues. I told her its not about paying dues, its about paying respect, respect for a country whos soldiers died to grant you that choice She gave me THAT look and walked off.
