At one periphery of the ultra-posh high-value Defence Colony where I live, where people fight for generations for property because values have gone sky high, lies this abandoned stretch of real estate. Awash in garbage, at night this is where the indigent and homeless find place to sleep, unless they are thrown out for a variety of reasons - unable to pay the hafta, random raids, bad luck. I have seen this place in this condition now for the past 20+ years at the very least. These are also the people who are looking after Indias economy, currency, best interests and more.
