At one point Ron Paul had raised more money, won more straw polls, won more post-debate polls and had more internet following than every other candidate COMBINED. But the media pushed their narrative, calling people like Michelle Bachman frontrunners based on no measurement whatsoever other than the desire of the media to shape opinion. When convention time came, the rules were changed by GOP party officials and many delegates (such as those from Massachusetts) were forced to pledge not to vote for Paul. The delegates who slipped through were silenced in any way possible...such as in this photo of a Texas woman silencing a Ron Paul supporter from her own state. The old school GOP ignored the mass movement of young people, the numbers and the broad appeal of Paul and pushed a candidate who could not win. I wonder: is this woman and those like her are happy with the result? Perhaps they are, after all, they have gotten 8 more years of Dick Cheney / Karl Rove style policies of war, aggression, Gitmo, Patriot Act, bailouts and violence. John McCain gushes his support of Pres Obama and H Clinton at every turn. It will be interesting to see what happens next election.
