At one time Memphis boasted one of the most beautiful airports in the country. That is until they built that monstrosity of a parking lot in front of in completely blocking its view. Not only is it a waste of money, but why in hell would you need a new multilevel parking lot when your airport has been downgraded from an international to basically a regional airport? To add insult to injury they closed the car rental places on a Democrat Rd where they were convenient to both locals and passengers and moved them to Godzilla lot. Well try driving up parking and renting a car now. It is a nightmare in itself. You have to park way up on the fifth floor and try to find the rental agencies. They must have instructed the sign installers to do a good job at hiding them. If you make the mistake of parking and then paying and asking one of the attendants you receive an admonishment from of all things a Memphis public education graduate. Lastly Delta Airlines just announced it was cutting 15 more flights and laying off several more employees. That middle terminal that was once a bundle of activity with several locally owned businesses, not including the national brands when Memphis was a Northwest hub and later a Delta has to be awful empty. That means lost of revenue and jobs. I guess Delta is punishing Memphis for allowing Southwest and Frontier to come in. Even though it wants out. How is it these strange things happen in Memphis all the time?
