Nowadays, getting a degree doesnt actually mean you have any marketable skills other than you can jump through hoops. Unless youre wanting to play Anne Hathaways role in the devil wears prada your skill set isnt THAT marketable. That degree certainly doesnt mean you know much about the topic you went to school to learn. There are loads of people getting degrees and simply unable to perform the work their degree claims that they know how to do. School currently is a scam. Its overpriced. The courses available have no correlation to the work available. Its not producing job-ready individuals. Its about time we got rid of this myth that higher education is the end-all solution. Education is an absolute must. Im not suggesting an alternative to it. Im observing that it needs to be repaired so that it can be what people currently claim it to be.
