At our Christmas Open House 2014, Mike Slayton and I shared our values, beliefs, and traditions, that have been passed down to us. We consider ourselves fortunate to have grown up in homes where our grandparents and parents shared their love for Jesus and celebrated his birthday by hanging lights. The Christmas lights are an important tradition to our family, because they shine Jesus love and glory into the world. Today, I hang extra lights up to catch a glimpse of the beauty of Heaven where my mother is celebrating. Certainly, I was blessed to have learned from the best mother who understood honor. I lit many candles to let our loved ones know they were loved and not forgotten. Im sure they were watching and smiling down on us as we kept their memory alive. Also, our family never went in debt to buy gifts for each other. We dont buy something if we cant pay for it. Im glad our grandparents and parents taught us that it was better to give and help others who needed it more. It was a blessing to read that the family we adopted and prayed for last year is doing better and is not in need of any help. In addition, Gods presence was seen and felt at our Christmas party. Our family says thank you to all of our new friends, old friends, and family who came and shared the true meaning of Christmas with their hugs, friendship, support, and sharing in Spirit of Jesus Birthday. Merry Christmas! As our guests left, we gave them a Christmas card with the following message. May you hear Jesus whisper to you, I am here, I am with you, you are loved.
