At some point, activism went from actually doing something to just talking about things, or even just thinking about them. Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, Nelson Mandela, even Henry David Thoreau actually did things. Today our biggest activists consider getting hashtags to trend a victory. Instead of actual change, they spend their time insisting its called Palestine, not Israel and waving flags while chanting slogans. Actual change doesnt matter anymore, retweets and photo opportunities at podiums matter. Im disgusted by what activism has become and disgusted by the people who use it as a tool for their own advancement.
