At some point we have to learn the difference between giving up - TopicsExpress

At some point we have to learn the difference between giving up and walking away. We must know that just because we choose to remove ourselves from toxic situations doesnt mean that we have given up. Know that if our prayers have not been immediately answered it doesnt mean that we didnt pray hard enough or that we have given up on God. And if God doesnt answer prayers on our timeline it doesnt mean that we should define our faith as a failure so we give up...prayers are not graded...No such thing as pass/fail when it comes to faith. When you walk away it simply means that you weighed your options and decided on the choice that worked the best in your life... You walked away. You walked away from the heartache. You walked away from the pain. You released the shackles of negativity from your life and wrapped your spirit up with your cloak of resiliency. Giving up is not synonymous with walking away.. You are not turning your back on someone or a situation... You are facing your fears in a forward motion. You are climbing mountains to reach a higher understanding of who you are and you making choices that will lead you to where you want to be. And there will be some folks along the way who just wont get it but thats okay too because its not about them... Its about you and your struggle for significance, strive for excellence and commitment to self-improvement... Its okay to know the difference and its okay to make that choice to simply walk away without giving up. Sometimes we just stay in or nearby situations too long and then begin to lose hope about it and decrease our faith in it.... And we confuse importance with priority. Not everything that is important to us is a priority every moment. We may have to walk away from the important things and people to get our priorities right. And this may not be easy for us... Leaning on those shields of grace, mercy and faith while removing our glasses of shame, doubt snd fear will help us to create and see our plans to walk away. And we wont have to give up... Yes, learning how to walk away is very different than learning how to give up...But it must be a lesson included in our curriculum of life... Lesson: Just because you walk away from it doesnt mean you have given up on it! Dr. Adair f. White-johnson Empowerologist Life Strengthener Author Motivational Speaker Www.adairwhitejohnson
