At the Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development held in Bangkok in May, civil society groups formulated a peoples agenda for development justice that broadly encapsulates the global call for sharing. In particular, they demand that governments implement policies that eliminate inequalities through the redistribution of resources, wealth and power, including through progressive taxation. They also call for shared prosperity within planetary boundaries, which requires governments to recognise that resources are limited and must be shared amongst all people and countries.
