At the Holy Mass officiated by Pope Francis at the Quirino Grandstand yesterday, Red Cross assisted 1225 persons based on the report of the PRC Operations Center as of 8am, January 19. OpCen recorded 551 mass goers had their blood pressure checked. Minor cases handled by first aiders and emergency response units such as dizziness, hyperventilation, nose bleeding, abrasions, fever and body pain reached 415. At least 158 major cases such as difficulty of breathing, hypertension, hypothermia, chest pain, asthma and fracture were tallied. Red Cross transported 36 patients to nearby hospitals including the PRC emergency field hospital located at the CCP Complex. Welfare desks received 65 cases such as tracing missing children and referral to other agencies.
