At the begining of October I filled out an application for Powell for CASANA (Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America) They have a program called iPads for Apraxia. They give a free iPad & protective cases to a total of 100 kids in the United States and Canada who have Apraxia. You must meet their very thorough/specific requirements that include questionnaire, Letter from childs SLP, evaluation notes, Diagnoses of Apraxia, tax returns, current & last years utility bills and much more. The deadline for applications to be turned in (to Pittsburgh PA) on Oct. 4 no later than 5pm. I barley made the deadline and had to send everything next day air. Not cheap lol. I got my Mail this morning and theres a envelope from CASANA I opened it up and was so excited for my sweet boy! He was 1 of the 100 Kids selected to get an iPad! I am so grateful for this amazing gift. Ipads have helped children with Apraxia of Speech, there is a whole bunch if great apps that helps ur child with apps and puzzles, games and all sorts of fun educational stuff to help them learn and overcome Apraxia of Speech. Im just so dang happy and so proud of my little Powelly boy and how far he has come since he has been born. He deserves this so much! I cant wait to see the look on hims face when his ipad comes. Mommy loves you sweet boy. :) :) :)
