At the bris today, we officially named our son Henry Michael -- מיכאל חנוך. These names reflect and memorialize my father, Michael Hammer, and my fathers father, Henry Hammer, both of blessed memory. On this day, Ellie Kaplow and I have only one wish for our son Henry: That he makes his own name – that he may merit the names that he is given, and that he may build his own new future out of them.
