At the checkout counter in SM Supermarket, the cashier asked me if - TopicsExpress

At the checkout counter in SM Supermarket, the cashier asked me if I would want to donate my coin-change to their Baryanihan project, but before she finished asking me, I already gave her my big NO… Label me as rude or insensitive, but I have a very obvious reason of doing so. I am a regular “victim” of SM’s Baryahihan, a project using the unwanted coins of its customers so they could allegedly help and improve lives. But I support the idea of not giving the exact change to their customers for a “good cause” rather than not giving at all, so much so that i even volunteer giving to them my loose coins from time to time... But things changed with an unpleasant experience with one of their cashiers yesterday... I purchased some grocery items worth Php 505.40, with a 500-peso, a 200-peso, a 5peso and a 25cent coins in hand. I handed to the cashier P505.25 and asked her in jest “na kung pwede ibalato na lang sa akin yung 15cents” para hindi na mabaryahan yung 200-peso bill ko and considering that they also shortchanged me most of the time. “Hindi po pwede sir, hanapin mo na lang yong cashier na hindi nagbibigay sa ‘yo ng saktong sukli”, was her rude reply. Honestly, I was fuming with anger deep inside upon hearing the reply… how can she be so inconsiderate to give away the “tatlong-singkong duling” when she is the same cashier shortchanging her customers most of the time… This morning I intentionally queue up at the same checkout counter with the same cashier and when it was my turn to pay, she obviously did not remember me, that she asked me if I am willing to donate my coin change to the project … of course she was surprised to hear my big and loud NO!
