At the end of April, the Esearch interface on the library main webpage will be updated. You can preview the new interface now, at: emich.preview.summon.serialssolutions/ Changes include: 1) Updates to the left-side pane for narrowing search results, including a new discipline filter. This allows results to be limited to a specific discipline area such as anthropology, education, geography, nursing, women’s studies, and many others. 2) Search results will include search expansion, which provides for automatic searching of alternate search words for many common topics. For example, a search for “heart attack” will also search the technical term “myocardial infarction”. 3) A new Explorer pane to the right of the search results, which will offer additional research guidance including: topical reference information, suggested librarian, recommended research guides, and related searches, when available. Look for additional improvements to Esearch as ProQuest, the company who provides this search service, is still working on enhancements for this new version.
