At the grocery this afternoon, i am reaching for a jug of orange juice at the top shelf. An elderly couple is approaching. The lady asks me, what is it youre trying to reach? I point at the jug. The lady tells her companion, Hon, can you help her? My thought balloon is snorting, the wife had to tell him, what a gentleman! or something like that. My back is turned to the tall man, until i hear the lady gently saying,put up your arm, thats the top shelf. Move your hand a little to your left...there, thats the orange juice..are you holding it firmly now... I turn, see the man wearing dark glasses, groping the jug and blindly handing it out. I say thanks, really appreciate it 3 times, before i slink away, not proud of myself. Where blind and naked ignorance delivers brawling judgments... Tennyson
