At the rally, Chan Kin-man said civil disobedience has to disturb society in some way, the most important thing is to gain public understanding and sympathy and to have the spirit of self-sacrifice. We will balance the disturbance to society, said Chan, we will actively accept responsibility for any crime, we will not resist arrest. If they do not arrest us, we will quietly and peacefully queue up at the police station. We are not provoking the rule of law. The OCLP three will not put up a defense or hire a lawyer, we will just make a political declaration in court and explain why we are doing what we do. The real occupier is Leung Chun-ying, is the small circle, continued Chan, he is obstructing kindness, justice and peace in our society. Chan said each person in the square was a Joshua Wong, a Benny Tai, a Chan Kin-man or Lester Shum. I am worried that if we accidentally use violence in response to violence, this will reduce the moral standing of the movement. I know that everyone is anxious after struggling for so long. In fact, the government is more anxious than we are. Ask yourselves, which government has been so challenged? We welcome dialogue, we insist on non-violence, I believe hope is on our side.
