At the request of my dear friend Emily Novakowski, who assigned me 10, Im reprinting the 4 I did the other day, and adding 6 new ones... If you click on like, I might ask you to tell us a specified number of things about you... :) Play along its fun! Here we go: 10 Things about me: 1. My favorite color is Red. Bright Firetruck Red. My second favorite color is Yellow. 2. I graduated from Randolph High School when I was 16, and went on to my first year of college at William Paterson College (now William Paterson University). Part of my being allowed to leave high school and attend college as a minor was that it had to be a college within NJ, and that I would return to RHS on the appropriate day in 1982 to graduate with my class, which I did. 3. I was baptised at the Church of St. Thomas More, 65 E 89th St, New York, NY. Formerly a Dutch Reformed Church until 1950, it was the home parish of Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis, and was the site of the memorial service for John Kennedy, Jr. 4. On July 17, 1999, I had to give a formal statement to the Massachusetts State Police via telephone regarding an incident that had occurred the night before, while I was traveling on my way to visit friends in Maine. I was traveling along the Mass Pike, and mine was the only car on the roadway at the time. A very thick fog had rolled in and I was driving with great caution. As I passed a sign for the exit to the Ferry to Marthas Vineyard, suddenly a very loud sound enveloped the car, drowning out the engine sounds, and the car radio. Suddenly, a saw a small plane fly maybe 20 feet above the hood of my car; I saw three passengers in the plane, and noticed that the plane seemed to be flying upside down. As it flew past me, I pulled over and watched as the blinking lights of the plane faded into the thick mist, and then saw a bright flash of light as it hit the water in the distance. I relayed my experience to the Officer taking the statement, and he informed me that it was the plane being flown by JFK, Jr. and his wife Caroline Bessette, and her sister. The Officer theorized that perhaps Kennedy, having difficulty navigating using only instruments in the thick fog, had seen my car headlights and was perhaps attempting to land on the strip of highway, or mistook the lighted roadway as the air-strip he was supposed to land on on the Vineyard. A horrible realization that I was there to witness the last moments of three lives. 5. My 700th Facebook friend was one of my favorite actresses, Bonnie Bedelia! 6. At one time in my life, when I was much younger, skinnier, had more hair, and wasnt half bad looking (Im told) I was asked to pose for a calendar, sans clothes, and I was Mr. December. Years later an artist friend of mine created a similar calendar and I appeared again, only this time wearing a sombrero, a handlebar moustache, in cartoon form. 7. As a kid, I used to dream about one day owning a Chevrolet Corvette. As at this writing, Ive never owned a Chevrolet car of any type, at any time. No particular reason, I just never did. 8. I was stuck in Jersey City, NJ late one evening in the 1990s with a dead car battery. I was awaiting AAA with a jump start when a man dressed only in a T-shirt, pants, socks and shoes approached me as I stood next to my car to flag down the tow truck. It was late at night, and the dead of winter, bitter cold. I thought it was strange that he was not wearing a coat nor hat, or even gloves. He asked me if I had a spare cigarette, and I told him Sorry, no I dont, I dont smoke. He seemed very dazed and confused, and I then noticed in the light of the street lamp that his shirt had several speckles of what looked like blood...and blood was caked under his fingernails and in his cuticles...his face looked like someone scratched and punched him at some point that evening...What happened to you? Are you okay? I asked him? I just killed my family he answered plainly, with no emotion. Just then the tow truck pulled up to my car, which frightened him and he sprinted down the block, and ducked into an alley way. I was extremely frightened and got the car going and drove back home to Randolph (my home town). The next day I read in the paper that a triple murder had been committed that evening in JC, a man in his early 30s had murdered his Mother, Father, and a sibling. What he told me was the truth. 9. My late Parents always wanted me to grow up to be an attorney. I think I would have made a good attorney. I just never had any desire whatsoever to be an attorney. 10. Ive lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Southern California. In my heart of hearts, I know Im a Southern Californian. I knew it the very first time I arrived at LAX, walked outside the terminal, took a deep breath of that lovely smog, and I knew I was home... :)
