At the risk of being redundant (I post this every year) todays date has special significance . On this day in 1998 , my mother died after an 18 month battle with breast cancer. At that time I was glad it was over, for her sake. A terible way to go. Also on this date in 1970, I fired my service revolver, the one and only time during my career. John Mumaw and I chased three armed B/E suspects through the woods and mud and muck. We made three apprehensions, closed out numerous B/Es, and recoved thousands of dollars in stolen property. The incident occurred in the 6800 Blk of Walker Mill Rd. District Hts. The victims loved us, the suspects not so much.
