At the risk of repeating myself, I think Appleseed is one of the best non-profit advocacy groups working to pass bills and promote policies, at the State and City levels. Despite a small staff, they have emerged to have a great deal of influence on a wide range of issues affecting low-income Hawaii residents. Right now, I am only asking you to click that you like them on Facebook. Some other time, I will urge people to throw them a few bucks, as they produce a helluva lot of justice from a small amount of money. About a month ago, I asked my FB friends to like them and I think it produced about a dozen likes. They have raised their goal to 450 likes by the end of the year. It is symbolic appreciation, on the one hand, but it is also feedback to the staff and the board that they are being appreciated. So please, now, hit like on the Appleseed FB page.
