At the risk of sounding like a total Neanderthal about public health and viruses, if I were a Governor, and you flew into my state as a health outreach worker from a hot zone African nation with a measurable fever, I would order you to be quarantined until you could be tested for Ebola. Period. I dont give a damn how noble your work is/was, and I dont care if you feel your personal rights were being violated. You would be stuck in an isolation unit until a qualified medical professional told me it was safe for you to continue your journey. I dont think Chris Christie was being rude, I think he was just being prudent. Given how inept the CDC has been on this, Im not sure how much confidence I have in that bunch anyway.
