At the risk of upsetting a few people, I am posting this potentially controversial article because it exposes the ugly truth behind the often unspoken frustrations that many of us involved in rescue work share due to the disturbingly all too common throw-away mentality of our society as well as an overwhelming lack of responsible animal guardians these days. Although this article specifically refers to dogs and dog rescue, the same applies to cats, horses, pigs, rabbits, birds, reptiles as well as all other companion animals. My wish is that in reading (and hopefully sharing) this article people will think twice before impulsively acquiring or frivolously rehoming their pets and putting a strain on the already maxed out resources of their local animal rescue organization.
