At the start of September (this video clip) I went for one of my first full cross attempts on long cables; as I hit the lowest point I could manage - something in the inside of my elbow gave way with an audible pop; if you look closely you can see it go. I have spent the last 2 months doing straight arm work with strict form on lower weights and elbow rehab in an attempt to strengthen the tendons back up, yesterday I thought I was ready to go for a full cross again. And I did exactly the same thing in the other elbow. My original aim was to acheive this skill before the end of the year - that is now going to be impossible, and Im starting to wonder whether my body is actually ever going to be fully capable. Has anybody else ever experienced this when working a cross or know of anybody else who has? Does anybody have any educated guesses as to what the injury exactly is and how best to treat it? Are there faults in my form which are making this kind of injury more likely? Does anybody have any advice for ways to effectively strengthen my tendons for this skill; because what Im doing at the moment clearly isnt working.I need to go back to the drawing board. Yours sincerely, An injured, and frustrated gymast
