At the stroke of midnight on the 7th of June 1974 I was born into this world. I am now 40, yet I feel like I was only 16 yesterday. Where has the time gone? Has time cheated me in some perverted way? I feel that 40 is a huge step into a new era, where life begins, but I can also feel the stiffness in my joints and my hands and legs when I get up from playing tabla and singing after hours of riyaz! I am also noticing my hair slowly turning into a silver halo, and those soft lines now appearing under my eyes. However, I am so blessed to have a beautiful and loving wife, amazing family and lots of awesome friends. Life for me has been an incredible journey full of surprises, humour, and wonderful opportunities. I have met some of the most esteemed personalities and have performed with some of the greatest musicians on our planet, and at the same time I have lost some of the most influential people I have known who had impacted my life with such positivity. May Mata Saraswati bless me with music, knowledge and health. I am looking forward to all of lifes challenges and obstacles, and to make significant contributions to our world through music and positivity. I hope to become a better student in music, to stand up for peace, love and humanity, to never hurt anyone, and to always be young at heart. I have been asked on what gift I would like for my birthday. My dear friends and family, the greatest gift you may give me, is to shed all boundaries of race, religion, caste, colour and creed and embrace all around you as Human Beings. If we could have love, harmony, respect and peace in this world, this corrupt and greedy madness our world is spiralling into will stop, and those miscreants who are causing those atrocities will once again become Human Beings.
