At these 2 transitional 3/4 sober houses for men (one in Georgetown and one in Seaford) that I started there are 18 beds. 10 of the men have full time jobs but their wages average about $10 an hour. 3 men are on SSDI. 2 are unemployed and get $ 90 a month general assistance being over age 55. 3 of the beds are open and available. The 2 men that are unemployed also have medical issues and they are recuperating. We couldnt just evict them. I have been asking for community support to keep their rent paid. So far so good. If it wasnt for these 3/4 sober and affordable houses, the men would be homeless living on the streets. If you know of a large house and a property owner who is looking to rent perhaps they would consider a sober group. Please let me know because I am looking to start up another sober house. I have started up over 20 of these sober houses over the past 6 years. I live at the one in Georgetown pictured with the blue metal roof.
