At this moment, thirty years ago, the veil between the worlds parted and the gods and goddesses smiled, and the earth gained a remarkably wonderful human being and I fell in love at first sight like I had never imagined was possible. After twenty two hours of hard labor I got to meet my first born, nine pounds and beautiful, with a full head of dark hair, which in later years he would proceed to turn blue, green, blonde, orange and purple. Now he has dark hair once again, is mature and married and all. But he has always been and always will be the talented, funny, wise, creative, brilliant, passionate beautiful person he was born to be at this time, in 1984, when the Cubs were actually in the playoffs.
