At this time of year, CRY (Click Rights for Education) is running its photography campaign - Click Rights. Click Rights is an initiative that uses photography as a medium to express the difficulties children face in receiving an education and to promote proper implementation of India’s Right to Education Act. Click Rights encourages the public to take snapshots of two types: one illustrating reality, circumstances that cause children to drop out/not attend school, and another depicting success, reenrollment of children into schools. The Click Rights campaign runs its course in three phases: Promotion: · Information of CRY and Click Rights is circulated through the public to bring in those interested to contribute to the cause Online campaign and promotional activities: Online campaign (July) – photos and their corresponding stories are uploaded on social networking platforms (Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Flickr, etc.) · Promotional activities – public engages in activities held in ‘CRY corners’ that educate them on the topic of lack of schooling for children in marginalized communities Photo exhibition: · Campaign culminates with a photo exhibition spanning over two days where the pictures are put on display · August 3rd week (dates to be confirmed)
