At this time twenty-six years ago to the minute, Steven Hildreth and his then-wife Sharmaine welcomed their first child into the world. They decided to pass the fathers name along to the child. That name has been a source of strength for me and a standard to meet. One of my proudest moments in life was holding THE FIRST BAYONET for the first time in my hands. I held a book with my name on the cover, and by extension my fathers name. Then, to see him hold the book himself made me equally proud, and I know it made him proud, too. It also made my mother proud. She was enthusiastic about me publishing my book and continues to encourage the pursuit of my dream. My mother is proud of me. Im glad to have such parents when I know too many in this world come up with far less. Heres to the next twenty-six years, full of writing.
